San Jorge Village

Today we started out early having breakfast at 6 a.m. We then had devotions at 7 a.m. for two hours with worship and prayer with the physicians and translators at the mission house. It was a great time of reflection and getting geared up to go out into the community to serve. We took vans filled with medical supplies to the poor village of San Jorge. We set up in a local one room church and were greeted by over one hundred people waiting in line to be seen by the physicians. We split up into groups, serving in the children's ministry, pharmacy, and the prayer counseling station. People in the village were given a ticket and after seeing the physician they were sent to the prayer counseling station where they were given their medications. At the counseling station the patients were asked whether they had a personal relationship with Jesus and if they had any pressing prayer requests. They were then prayed for and it was amazing to hear each individual testimony and story. Many of the stories were heartbreaking and it was awesome to see how the Lord used each and every one of us to minister and we were blessed!! We even had some people come to know the Lord and pray the sinner's prayer!! After a few hours we broke for lunch provided by the people of the village. It consisted of chicken and beans in tomatoe sauce:) We saw more patients in the late afternoon and in total, the clinic saw 117 patients today. It was a long day and now we are back at the mission house and ready to relax, have some dinner, and hit the sack!! We area all tired but fired up to see what the Lord is doing and we are excited to keep going! Tomorrow we go to a local church and in the afternoon we will visit an orphanage. Keep the prayers coming!! We can feel them and God is doing a great and mighty work through us!
